Cooperation between industry and science and the transfer of research results into practice are important factors for the performance of a logistics site and the competitiveness of businesses. Terms for the logisticians, which are usually combined with Industry 4.0 or the intelligent production and logistics, are in this context linked production sites, Big Data, the Internet of Things, Cyber–Physical Systems, Robotics, Smart Factories or the integration of customers in business and value-added processes.
Exactly this issue was in the focus of an event of the research network LogDynamics at the University of Bremen, the Bremer Institut für Produktion und Logistik, the Bremen Chamber of Commerce, the Via Bremen Foundation and the Wirtschaftsförderung Bremen on the occasion of the Logistics Day 2016 which took place last Thursday. Under the motto “digitization in logistics – human, technology, organization” the latest research results as well as innovative technologies and their application were presented.
Even the celluveyor could be viewed in the accompanying program of the day. Hendrik Thamer and Yoga Benggolo explained its functionalities to the interested public and showed the extensive possibilities of the new conveyor system. The guests themselves could control packages via the demonstrator and got an impression of the enormous flexibility of the technology.
