The Celluveyor – Omnidirectional Cellular Conveyor is a development project of the ‘Bremer Institut für Produktion und Logistik GmbH’ (BIBA) at the University of Bremen. BIBA works in its research projects on technological and organizational challenges that need to be addressed in the context of Industry 4.0. As part of preparatory work in the research area Intelligent Production and Logistics Systems (IPS), the innovative omnidirectional conveying and positioning system was first designed and developed. A demonstrator successfully indicated the functionality (proof-of-principle).

The further development of the Celluveyor is funded by EXIST Research Transfer of the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy. Promotion period is from April 2015 to September 2016. BIBA accompanies the optimization of the system and assumes the scientific mentoring in the person of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Freitag, director of the institute and head of the department Planning and Control of Production and Logistics Systems in the faculty Production Engineering at the University of Bremen.
